Meet, Vaibhav.
Vaibhav shares with us his journey from campus to corporate. His Eurofins experience, from being a Bright Beginner Awardee to overcoming trials and tribulations, ultimately leading him to his current success.
The Fresher Experience
Transitioning from campus life to the corporate world was a challenge I faced when I initially joined Eurofins as an intern in the Genomics programs & One IT department. However, with the guidance and support of my manager, Nikita Murarka, I navigated this new terrain with confidence. Starting with small courses and projects during my training period, I gradually developed the skills needed for my role. The team was always there to provide necessary resources, whether it was courses or knowledge transfer videos. The real learning began as I contributed to various tasks and development efforts.
Within the team, there are abundant opportunities to work on all stages of projects, from collaborating with product owners on requirements to deploying applications and providing support in production. I had the privilege of participating in every step, gaining a comprehensive understanding of system workings and project dynamics on a larger scale.
This experience broadened my perspective, improved my communication skills, and deepened my technical knowledge. While it may be unconventional for a newcomer to be involved in all the stages that I was, I'm proud that my team values this approach. I'm grateful to have commenced my corporate journey in such a hands-on and enriching manner.
"It's an amazing place for freshers to begin their careers. Right from the start, you get access to amazing technology and learning!"
Learning @ Eurofins
In my Eurofins journey, I've experienced remarkable personal and professional growth, thanks to the wealth of opportunities available. Developers like me are intricately involved in every aspect, from product design to maintenance. Earlier this year, I had a unique chance to visit a lab in Japan where our LIMS system is used. Witnessing firsthand how our software streamlines gene sequencing processes, making manual steps automatic, enhanced my technical prowess and provided insights into user experiences, impact analysis, and automation – skills often acquired later in one's career.
Working with labs worldwide, from Europe to Japan and India, has honed my interpersonal and communication skills. Our team prioritises knowledge sharing and conducts technical demos to showcase innovations that enhance our systems' robustness and efficiency.
Life Beyond Eurofins
Apart from my work, I have a variety of interests that keep me engaged. I'm passionate about cooking and baking, often sharing homemade treats with my co-workers. Writing is another one of my passions, and I spend my free time crafting poems and composing songs on my ukulele. I also prioritise physical activities, such as trekking and yoga, to manage stress and bring a sense of calm to my life.
My fascination with languages from around the world leads me to embark on language-learning journeys every six months. Additionally, I actively participate in NGOs that support the LGBTQ+ community and engage in pet fostering, contributing to causes I deeply care about.
