World Milk Day is an international day established by the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations to recognize the importance of milk as a global food, and to celebrate the dairy sector. It has been observed on June 1 each year since 2001.
This 2021, the theme for World Milk Day will focus on sustainability in the dairy sector along with empowering the environment, nutrition, and socio-economic. This 2021 theme not only glorifies the need and significance of various dairy products but also aims to raise awareness about the dairy sector on a larger perspective, including how dairy supports the livelihoods of over one billion people.
