Dual-Labelled Probes for qPCR by Eurofins Genomics
Your Industry, Our Focus
Eurofins Genomics provides high-quality Dual-Labelled Hydrolysis Probes for TaqMan assays, offering a broad range of Dye-Quencher combinations that are compatible with a variety of qPCR instruments and reliable performance for your experiments.
Dual-Labelled Probes, also known as hydrolysis probes, are designed to elevate the accuracy of real-time PCR. These Probes are widely used in quantitative PCR (qPCR) for single-plex to multiplex for detection of multiple targets. These probes deliver high specificity and sensitivity, making them ideal for precise nucleic acid detection and quantification.
Applications of Dual-Labelled Probes
- Microarray validation
- Multiplexing of multiple target genes
- Pathogen detection
- Viral load quantification
- Gene expression analysis
- Gene copy number determination
Key Benefits
- Design Simplicity: Easy to design for high sequence specificity.
- Sensitivity: Enhanced detection sensitivity for low-abundance targets.
- Reporter/Quencher Combinations: Extensive range of options for flexibility in different applications.
Working Principle
During qPCR, the dual-labelled probe binds to the target sequence between the forward and reverse primers. The Taq polymerase's exonuclease activity cleaves the probe, separating the quencher from the reporter dye. This increases the fluorescence signal, which is directly proportional to the target DNA amount. The real-time increase in fluorescence allows precise quantification of the target sequence.

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ's)
What are Dual-Labelled Probes used for?
These are used in real-time PCR assays for detecting and quantifying specific DNA or RNA sequences. They are ideal for applications such as pathogen detection, gene expression analysis, and viral load monitoring.
How do Dual-Labelled Probes enhance sensitivity?
Dual-Labelled Probes are operated through hydrolysis mechanism, where the probe is cleaved during PCR. This releases the reporter dye, allowing fluorescence to increase proportionally to the target DNA, ensuring high sensitivity.
Can I choose different dye-quencher combinations?
Yes, Eurofins offers an extensive range of dye-quencher combinations, allowing customization based on your experimental needs and the instruments you use.
What is the typical turnaround time for receiving Dual-Labelled Probes?
For probes produced in India, the turnaround time is 7-10 working days. If ordered from Germany or the U.S., the typical delivery time is around 2-3 weeks.
